Winter Retreat – Finding the Light in the Darkness
West Sonoma County, CA
December 14-16, 2018
Join us for an unforgettable and deeply nourishing yoga retreat at our favorite Northern California retreat center. This retreat, led by two experienced instructors, will be a wonderful way to pause and immerse yourself in the practice of yoga and mindfulness during the busy holiday season. Melina will share winter Seasonal Vinyasa Yoga classes, introduce Ayurvedic practices for self-care, and teach Yin Yoga to prepare your body and mind for meditation.Baxter will be offering tools to help you turn inward and replenish your energy during this slow, quite time of the year.
Our yoga getaway will be perfect way to deepen your practice while simultaneously keeping your inner fire (agni) bright during this dark season. And there is no better place to do this than the stunning Ratna Ling Retreat Center, located just 90 miles north of San Francisco in the redwood forests of Sonoma County (roughly 30 minutes from the town of Jenner). Easily accessible from the San Francisco area, this is a great getaway for Bay Area folks as well as those coming from farther afield!
At Ratna Ling, enjoy your own bedroom in a gorgeous cottage, wholesome vegetarian meals, soaring, timber-frame retreat facilities, and an environment that fosters an appreciation for the boundless potential within each of us.
Morning practices will be invigorating (yang) while afternoon classes will be restorative (yin).
A DEEPER VILLAGE EXPERIENCE
Yelapa Yoga Retreat
January 19-26, 2019
I am very excited to announce our 2019 Mexico retreat- “A Deeper Village Experience!”- as we will be interacting more deeply with the local village of Yelapa than in years past. After arriving in Yelapa, each day will include a morning and late afternoon yoga class designed to be accessible to students of all levels, including those very new to yoga. We will play with how the yoga practice is valuable as a tool for healthy aging, how it fosters community, and how it connects to the world we live in. And we will have a great deal of fun along the way…
Yoga, Ayurveda, and the Power of Nature
at Feathered Pipe Ranch, Helena, Montana
August 10-17, 2019
The famous 20th century spiritual teacher J Krishnamurti once said to his students “You’d all be much better off to be out in nature somewhere.”
This summer, we’ll be taking the master’s advice, learning and practicing the techniques of yoga for healthy aging and Ayurveda for deep healing in one of the most beautiful places on earth, the Feathered Pipe Ranch. Along the way, we’ll be storing up wisdom to support three pillars of a happy and fulfilling life: a sustainable yoga practice, a wholesome diet, and a healthy lifestyle.
Mornings at the retreat will include meditation, an asana class with Baxter or Melina, and an experiential talk on yoga for healthy aging (Baxter) or diet, nutrition, and Ayurveda (Melina). Late afternoon sessions will include gentle therapeutic practices, and instruction related to diet, exercise, yoga practice and daily rituals that can align your being with the changing seasons and stages of life.
Our week together will offer plenty of opportunity to rest, restore and recharge in the natural world, with walking meditations in nature, yoga practices and talks outside on the front lawn in the shadow of the Montana hills, and evening hikes to Sky Ranch and beyond. We will enjoy nourishing, home-cooked, plant-rich meals, along with unstructured time for silence, reading, journaling, daydreaming, hiking, sauna, hot tub, or just swimming peacefully in the lake.
Early registration discount!
$100 off for full payment by Thanksgiving, November 22, 2018.
Also if you invite a friend new to the Ranch you can each save an additional $100.
